Armistice Day (11 November) The red poppy is a symbol of both remembrance and hope for a peaceful future.  

To remember those who have given their lives in battle as these were the flowers which grew on the battlefields after World War One ended.

Wearing a poppy is still a very personal choice, reflecting individual experiences and personal memories.
