Dream of death what it means

Recently I awoke in the early hours after a rather haunting dream of my own death.

At the time I was so shaken by its visual disturbance and vividness, as I had felt at peace watching my soul lift from my body with an urgency of wanting to return. I wanted to know why my mind had contemplated such a thought. [To] die in your dream symbolises inner changes, transformation, self-discovery and positive development that is happening within you or your life..... Metaphorically, dying can be seen as an end or a termination to your old ways and habits. So, dying does not always mean a physical death, but an ending of something. Dreams of experiencing your own death usually means that big changes are ahead for you. You are moving on to new beginnings and leaving the past behind. Now I feel relieved and grateful to understand why and that it was a positive.

Lucid dreaming is a unique dream state where you are aware you're dreaming and have the ability to control what's happening in your dream. If you didn't know any better (which you may not until you wake up), you may think you're experiencing real life. While we think of sleep as a time for recharging the body, the brain is actually quite active during sleep — dreaming. Our dreams can be soothing or scary, mysterious or helpful, and realistic or fantastical. Dreaming might help the brain eliminate any unnecessary information or memories while processing and storing what’s important. Some people feel more refreshed after having had slept and dreamed, even if they do not remember dreaming Vivid dreams can be positive or negative, realistic or fantasy. Scientists know that most heavy dreaming occurs during rapid eye movement (REM) sleep. REM sleep normally cycles every 90 minutes during a night of sleep and may last 20 to 25 minutes. I do not normally read too much into my dreams as think its a way the mind processes anxieties and stresses of things going on in your life at that present time. However, this was so vivid it intrigued me to know why I should experienced such a dream.

By Henry Van Dyke Time is too slow for those who wait, Too swift for those who fear, Too long for those who grieve, Too short for those who rejoice, But for those who love, time is Eternity.
